Leone Equestrians, Inc. Professional Internship Program

Leone Equestrians, Inc, a Sacramento based facility specializing in breeding, showing and sales, has announced the Professional Internship Program.  The Internship Program offers young professionals a structured way to attain their goals as professional horsemen.

Internships are available for $1,000 per month with a 3 month minimum commitment.  Professionals only, payments are to be made in advance for each 3 month increment.  Tuition is non-refundable for any reason.

Interns work six days per week with duties ranging from stable management to riding / teaching.  The goal is to produce a well rounded professional equestrian that will be competent to perform or oversee all necessary barn tasks, in order to someday run his / her own equestrian operation.

Interns will benefit from professional lectures (vet, farrier, breeding specialist, dental specialist, supplemental feed specialist, accountants, etc), clinics, regular lessons, presenting sale horses, starting young horses, and more.  There will be hands on experience with marketing, public relations, and business management.  Interns will work in event organization, running children’s summer camps, managing horse shows, hunter / jumper course design and judging.

Interns that complete 2 or more years in Leone Equestrians’ Intern Program will have assistance in finding a job in the industry.

Interns must maintain their own health insurance and must declare Professional Status through USEF.

Management reserves the right to refuse or excuse anyone from this program at their sole discretion, including but not limited to behavior, tardiness, attitude, and lack of professionalism.

*Shorter periods are available for $1,500 per month upon arrival.
